Village of Adena Public Notification Signs

GUIDELINES

The Village of Adena has two signs with changeable letters for messaging.  These signs were purchased with federal funds and as a result, they may only be used for public purposes for the Village of Adena as specified in the original approved funding request. To have an event or message posted, contact Councilman R.J. Konkoleski. Generally, signs are updated once a month for the following month with the exception of emergency notifications.

The following guidelines are in place to ensure continued appropriate usage of the signs:

1.) The sign in front of the Village Office has been designated for notification on matters of Village business such as meetings, employment opportunities, public notices, and notices related to public health and welfare.

2.) The sign at the Village Green has been designated for notification on matters of public interest within the Village such as special community events, as well as matters of public health, safety, and welfare.

3.) Signs may be used to promote ballot issues for the Village of Adena only. (i.e. not Township, county, or state levies or issues, nor issues placed on the ballot by public petition)

4.) Signs may not be used in support of or opposition to any candidate for public office. (Including, but not limited to municipal, local, state, and boards of education)

5.) Any community events promoted on the signs must physically be taking place within the Village of Adena.

6.) Only events open to the public may be promoted on the signs. (No “members only” events.)

7.) Personal messages such as birthdays and anniversaries or other well-wishes are not permitted.

8.) Signs may not be used to promote or advertise private businesses.
